Here we are in front of the lighthouse. (I didn't realize there were lighthouses along the Hudson, but, in fact, there are several.) This one boasts a bed and breakfast in the second story. Sounds fun, doesn't it? Yes, it was a bit windy, but a beautiful day otherwise!
Looking south on the Hudson.
Dad loved the wild yellow irises growing in the marshes.
This proud fisherman happily posed for me with his impressive striped bass. I didn' t know fish that big swam these waters!
Our next stop was Catskill, and more specifically, Thomas Cole's house. Thomas Cole was the father of the Hudson River School.. He had a fantastic view of the Catskills from his porch; it was easy to see how they inspired his paintings. Brad said one of his favorite hiking spots in the Catskills, was the Katterskill Falls, where 20 falls cascade. I'd love to go there sometime.

One last view from the porch, a farewell, then we returned home.
